Welcome to Admizion      #1 Your Gateway to Global Education – Apply, Study, Succeed!

I know you probably found out through a WhatsApp message. Or maybe a panicked call from a friend who appeared for NEET on 3 May. Either way – you’re here now, looking for answers, and I want to give them to you straight.

Yes, it’s true. NTA has officially cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination that was held on 3 May 2026. This is not a rumour. This is not a social media hoax. The press release is out, and the decision is final.

Now, if you’re a student who sat in that exam hall, prepared for months, maybe even years – I can only imagine what today feels like. It’s not just frustrating. It’s deeply unfair. And I’m not going to sugarcoat that.

But I also don’t want you making wrong decisions in the heat of this moment. So let’s just talk through this properly.

Why Was the Exam Actually Cancelled?

NTA had already referred this matter to central agencies on 8 May – just five days after the exam. After law enforcement agencies shared their findings, it became clear that the examination process had been compromised. The integrity of the paper was in question.

NTA’s stand was simple – they couldn’t allow a tainted process to move forward. Not when the career of lakhs of students depends on a fair result.

So the call was made. Cancel it. Redo it. Do it right this time.

The CBI Is Now Involved – Should You Be Worried?

Honestly? No. If anything, this should give you some reassurance.

The Government of India has handed this case over to the CBI for a full investigation. This means whatever went wrong – paper leak, organised cheating, internal mismanagement – it will be looked into properly. NTA has committed full cooperation.

The re-exam, when it happens, will be under a level of scrutiny that the original wasn’t. That actually works in your favour as a genuine student.

What Happens to Your Money and Registration?

This is the question I get asked most by parents – and rightfully so.

Here’s what NTA has confirmed:

Your registration stays valid. You don’t need to fill any new form or go through the process again. Whatever exam centre you had, whatever candidature details exist – they carry forward automatically.

Your fees will be refunded. Every rupee. You won’t be asked to pay again for the re-exam.

A new admit card will be issued when the dates are announced.

That’s it. There’s nothing you need to do right now except wait for the official announcement.

When Will the Re-Exam Happen?

There’s no confirmed date yet, and I’d be lying if I gave you one.

NTA has said the dates will be communicated “in the coming days” through official channels. That could mean a week, that could mean a bit longer. Nobody outside of NTA knows right now – and anyone claiming they do is guessing.

Please, please ignore the dates circulating on WhatsApp and Telegram. I’ve already seen three different “confirmed re-exam dates” floating around today – none of them are real.

Stick to these only:

  • nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in for official updates
  • NTA Helpline: 011-40759000 / 011-69227700
  • Email: neet-ug@nta.ac.in

So What Do You Do With Yourself Until Then?

This is the part nobody really talks about – the in-between.

The exam is cancelled. The new date isn’t out. You’re just… waiting. And that waiting can mess with your head more than any syllabus ever could.

First – give yourself today. Don’t open your books. Don’t start a new revision plan. Just let yourself feel whatever you’re feeling. Anger, disappointment, relief, confusion – all of it is valid. Talk to your parents, call a friend, go outside. Your brain needs to process this.

From tomorrow – come back, but come back smart. You already sat through the exam once. You know better than anyone which topics gave you trouble, which sections felt shaky. That’s your revision list. You don’t need to start over. You need to sharpen what’s already there.

And here’s something most students overlook – use this time to actually understand the NEET counselling process. So many students put all their energy into clearing the exam and have zero idea what happens after. Which round to choose, how to fill preferences, government vs private, state quota vs AIQ – it gets overwhelming when you’re already exhausted post-result. Understanding this now, while you have the time, will save you enormous stress later.

A Note From Us at Admizion

We’ve been working with NEET students and their families for years now. And if there’s one thing we’ve seen repeatedly – it’s that the exam is only half the journey. What happens after, the counselling, the college selection, the decision-making – that’s where a lot of students and families struggle.

Moments like these – when there’s uncertainty, when the system throws a curveball – are exactly when having someone in your corner makes a difference. Not someone who gives you generic advice, but someone who actually knows the landscape. Government medical college cutoffs, private college options, MBBS abroad possibilities – all of it.

If you’re in Chandigarh or around, and you need someone to just sit with you and map out your options clearly – that’s what we do. No pressure, no rush. Just straight talk about what your path looks like from here.

The Short Version, If You’re in a Hurry

The NEET UG 2026 exam (3 May) is cancelled – officially, finally, and completely. CBI is investigating. Your registration is safe. Your fees will come back. Re-exam will happen, dates are coming. Don’t trust anything that isn’t from NTA directly. Keep studying, but smartly.

Look – this is a setback. A real one. But setbacks have a funny way of separating the students who truly want this from the ones who weren’t sure to begin with. You’re reading this, you’re looking for answers, you’re not giving up. That already tells me something about you.

The road to medicine was never going to be easy. But it’s still your road.
